BELOTERO BALANCE® Dermal Filler has unique properties that allow it to adapt within the skin for soft and even correction. The versatility of the product makes it strong enough to handle deep treatment areas such as the nasolabial folds, yet soft enough to treat more delicate areas such as vertical lip lines, temples, tear troughs etc.

We have been using Belotero in our office for wrinkle treatments, and volume replenishment for our patients and have had excellent patient feedback and satisfaction with this new dermal filler.

One of the attributes that personally interested me is the fact that Belotero is a hyaluronic acid product which has been available and used extensively for several years giving it a pretty good track record for safety. I am not a fan of trying "new" products without examining the safety record of the products which is usually not available until many years after the product has been used widely. I also like the consistency of Belotero which allows for a more superficial injection without the "lumpy" appearance in vertical lines above the lip and in tear troughs.

Excessive underarm and palm sweating can be damaging to your confidence!

Medical term for excessive sweating is "Primary Hyperhidrosis" and can effect underarms, palms and soles. This occurs due to overactive sweat glands which produce lot more sweat than required for cooling.

There are several medical management options of excess sweating without compromising safety and efficacy.

Anti-perspirants and deodorants are the first line treatment. Over the counter and prescription antiperspirants work by blocking sweat ducts, thus reducing the amount of sweat reaching the skin surface. These methods, however do not work efficiently for individuals suffering from primary hyperhidrosis.

For those who do not have adequate control of sweating with topical agents, injection of Botox or Dysport into the affected area temporarily blocks the nerve signals to the sweat glads, reducing sweating of the treated area for 2-5 months depending on individual variations in response. BOTOX is FDA-approved for excess underarm sweating (primary hyperhidrosis).
